MISSION & MOTTO
The mission of TCYS is to develop the character of our youth - our future leaders - through competitive livestock and youth fair projects which teach them critical life skills including personal responsibility, financial and time management, fair play, good sportsmanship, hard work and integrity. Students learn through annual projects and are rewarded for superior accomplishments through a community supported ribbon auction. Our goal is to instill in our youth strong character and a commitment toward community service and leadership.
The motto of TCYS is "Building Character .... Growing Leaders."

HISTORY
TCYS began in 1938 and was reestablished as a premier livestock show and youth fair in 2005.
Since 2005, with the help of the community, sponsors, and volunteers we have awarded over $9.3 million to the youth of Travis County at our auction for their projects. We have supported over 4,350 exhibitors in 40 4H/FFA clubs and watched thousands of our kids graduate. Since 2010, we’ve awarded 106 scholarships, resulting in $146,400.
